Join us as we follow Sydney’s spectacular foreshore – taking in secluded beaches, old lighthouses, craggy cliffs and exquisite views.

We’re super-excited about our latest adventure – ‘Adventure of the Bays’ – taking place on Sat 05 June 2021. We’ve teamed up with our running friends from North Shore Run Club (NSRC) to join the fun, make new running friends and experience the stunning landscape that we live in. Our adventure will start at the Opera House and follows the coastline – taking in Double Bay, Rose Bay and Watsons Bay. Runners/joggers/walkers can choose their distance – 5km short, 10k medium, or 20km long.

What is the course?

The course starts on the steps of the Opera House and takes in one of the most scenic coastal walking tracks in Sydney Harbour National Park – including secluded beaches, beautiful parks, picturesque bays and amazing panoramic views of the city and the harbour. There are 3 options to choose from:

20km Long Route

Starts 6.30am at the Opera House and finishes on the beach at Watsons Bay.

Who can join?

Our ‘Adventure of the Bays’ is open to all our BEXI & NSRC members, non-members, friends and family. The aim is to have fun, meet new running friends and take in the exquisite sights along Sydney’s foreshore.

Is there a training program?

There is no specific training program for this event – however, our ‘Adventure of the Bays’ will be included in our training programs for the Bay-to-Bay Running Festival (20 June) and Sydney Half-Marathon (27 June).

Will there be refreshment stations?

There will be 3 x refreshment stations along the way – Double Bay, Rose Bay and Watsons Bay. Each refreshment station will provide water, watermelon/oranges and lollies. We will complete our adventure on the beach at Watsons Bay with brekkie (or fish ‘n’ chips from the iconic Doyles).

Is there transport?

We recommend you catch the ferry to Circular Quay for the start of the 20km option; or car pool to your various starting points. There is a ferry service from Watsons Bay returning to Circular Quay – as well as buses.

What is the cost?

This is a FREE event for our BEXI & NSRC members, non-members, friends and family.

Is there a navigation tool?

We recommend using RunGo App which is a free running app with turn-by-turn voice navigation – search for ‘Adventure of the Bays’ run options. Alternatively, Capra App provides detailed GPS mapping – subscription $4.49/mo – search for Circular Quay to Watsons Bay run.

How do you register?

Contact Debbie Solms (BEXI) or Andy Smith (NSRC) to confirm the distance you would like to run.

*Note: the above Event is subject to COVID-19 regulations.
