We’re supporting you!

We have all been affected by the highly contagious COVID-19 virus. Our races have been cancelled and we are feeling disappointed, lost and rather numb by the unknown situation.

 

Without a doubt, exercise is the one key factor that will get us through this crazy time. It will help with stress, anxiety, mental health, physical health… including boosting our immune system.

To support our BEXI community, we have created a few 8-week training programs which gives you the opportunity to train on your own;  or with us in the great outdoors (applying social distancing, of course!).  These programs include 3 x ‘non-event’ events during the course of the training – with the grand finale at the end.

We’ve planned some super-fun ‘non-event’ events that include road running and trail running.  They will be challenging, but more importantly – these events will give us a sense of purpose, a goal 8-weeks to have fun training with your buddies (or on your own).

If you’re looking for a FREE training program to keep you focused over the next 8-weeks, choose from the following:
  • BEXI50 – Trail running program, building up to the 50km distance on the trails (replacing UTA50)
  • BEXI22 – Trail running program, building up to the 22km distance on the trails (replacing UTA22)
  • BEXI42 – Road running program, building up to the marathon distance on the roads (replacing Canberra/London Marathon)
  • BEXI21 – Road running program, building up to the half-marathon distance on the roads (replacing SMH 21km)
  • BEXI21-Relay – Road running program, building up to the half-marathon relay distance on the roads (replacing SMH 21km relay)

 

Our aim is to keep you training – so that you have a purpose, are happy and stay healthy (physically and mentally).  Stay safe. Look out for each other. Community is everything. 

Spring Challenge 2020

Join us for seven weeks of fresh air, fitness and all-round fun!

Springtime is here! Time to head outdoors and take on our seven-week Spring Challenge 2020 – consisting of workouts, wildcard surprises, super-sessions, prizes and fun. Our goal is to get your feeling fit & fabulous for summer.

How does it work?
  • Challenge starts on Mon 12 Oct to Sat 28 Nov 2020
  • We will focus on three goals:
    • Get Faster – achieve a PB in your chosen run (5km) or cycle (20km) course
    • Get Stronger – improve your strength based on a benchmark circuit
    • Build a Healthy Habit – commit to being ‘Consistent’ by attending 3 x weekly training sessions
  • Weekly training sessions include:
    • Running – Mon | Thurs | Sat
    • Bootcamp – Tues
    • Cycling – Weds | Fri | Sat
    • Yin Yoga – Tues (pm)
  • Surprise ‘Wildcard’ challenges will be issued each week (can’t say any more!)
  • Points will be allocated for attending training sessions, completing challenges and achieving goals
  • Prizes will be awarded for most improved, most attended sessions and a special Coaches award
  • Prize-giving concludes at end of challenge on Sat 28 Nov – with a brekkie BBQ

Supporting Women Move

We’re passionate about moving. In fact, it’s hard to stop us from moving (fact!). So when it comes to sharing our passion, we’re at the front of the queue.

Beauty of Exercise (BEXI) is a community of women committed to improving our lifestyles. We are mums, wives, business professionals, home executives, taxi-drivers… and anything else that comes our way. Our lives are busy… but we understand the importance of moving regularly.  Not only does moving improve our fitness and manage our weight, it also reduces the risk of chronic disease, and is super-important for managing our mental wellbeing.

“Running is my happy place. It is a great way to keep your body fit and healthy but the best thing is, it really helps your mental heath – especially when running with an awesome bunch of supportive, happy people in the BEXI group. Running has taught me how to keep mentally well.” (KateP)

To support women moving, we have developed a gentle, nurturing, learn-to-run 5km program. This program starts off from a low-fitness base and is structured around each individual. Each week we gradually increase the distance, so that by the end of the 8-week period, you are running 5km. There is no pressure or expectation – it is all having fun while getting fit and healthy. The added bonus is that you will meet amazing friends to support you along the way!

Special ‘Bring-a-Friend’ Offer

Because we are so passionate about supporting women get moving, we are offering a ‘bring-a friend’. You both only pay 50% of the package – that’s $90 each for 8-weeks training (vs $180 for individual registration). We know that if you are accountable to your friend – you are 100% more likely to commit to a program. That’s why we have introduced this amazing offer. Nudge a friend and come join us.

Our next 8-week program starts on Sat 11 Aug through to Sat 29 Sept 2018. We train at a ‘sensible’ time – 8.30-9.30am (unlike our other BEXI buddies!).  We offer a fun, supportive, encouraging environment, where no-one is left behind. We would be honoured to have you join our BEXI team.
